DAISY THE MINI PIG

Greetings this gray morning from Farmer Mary and DAISY, one of the former pet “micro mini” “teacup” pigs now living at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo. Originally purchased for over $3000, DAISY was supposedly only going to grow to 35 pounds.

Farmer Mary is offered a “too big” pet pig who “grew larger than the breeder said” EVERY week of EVERY month of EVERY year. Pigs grow and grow and then they grow some more. You cannot keep a pig small by starving it. Pigs do not stay small. Pig Breeders forget to tell you that pigs will continue to grow for four full years.

DAISY is just now four. When she moved to Winterpast Farm she was quite small and she wore a tutu at birthday parties and a pretty pink harness. Eventually she outgrew five harnesses and six tutus and now she is living with another pig and all the other large animals in the pasture here at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.

Do not buy a “mini” pig! If friends make plans to buy one tell them Farmer Mary has one they can see in person. Farmer Mary and sweet DAISY will encourage them to reconsider purchasing a “mini” pig.

If you would like to meet all the animals at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo, PLEASE read the entire “your visit” at www.winterpast.org which very fully explains parking, our admission price, and lists a wide variety of food you can bring for feeding the animals.
