This morning while at a handbuilding pottery class at Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh, Farmer Mary made lots of clay ornaments in the shape of STELLA, our rescue mini horse. They will be fired with a shiny clear glaze over the white underglaze and will be for sale at Winterpast Farm Petting zoo in Wake Forest NC within a few weeks. They will lo k similar to star ornament in lower right pic when finished. $5 helps to feed all the former pets who now live at Winterpast Farm.
STELLA originally came from a hoarding case where she was stuck living in a stall with other young horses. One of her hips is a bit stuck as a result of inactivity so she has quite a limp. But, every now and then she remembers she now has ten acres and that girl can really run with great joy.
Bring STELLA a carrot or apple slice when you visit.
