Hard to believe that this pen, which Farmer Mary last used as a time out pen for HENRY (the cutest ) puppy when he was
naughty, is now a lovely roofed, tarped, maternity pen housing sweet GERMANY and her day old twin lamb daughters.
Big Thanks to @larryscoffee in Raleigh who donates empty coffee bean bags that Farmer Mary uses for several things including, shown here, being the first layer of flooring for a maternity pen at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. This will be covered with straw and will keep the babies healthy especially if the rain returns! Thanks Larry!
And BIG Thanks to a great farm volunteer who even brought her Mom and Dad along today to help get a roof on another maternity pen so GERMANY and her one day old twins would have a safe home.

The seven nursing mothers eat a lot of hay and the babies start to nibble on hay at about two weeks old. Hay can also be purchased at at Walmart, pet and feed stores.
