The pond is sure getting full at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC! Farmer Mary turned her inground pool into a pond years ago and she takes in unwanted turtles and fish. They are all very happy in such a big new home!
Bring along a slice of whole wheat bread or plain Cheerios or some romaine lettuce on your next farm visit and you can use Farmer Mary’s cool catapult to feed the turtles and fish.
Right now Farmer Mary is busy cleaning up lots of downed tree branches and she will be cleaning out soggy pens and hutches for the next few days as she begins to bring bunnies and guinea pigs out of the garage where small animals were being sheltered from what we thought would be a big storm. So very thankful that Florence didn’t head our way after all!
