Great pic that a recent farm visitor shared with Farmer Mary of the solid white male peacock at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
Farmer Mary purchased his egg from a peacock breeder three years ago and put it under a broody hen. Three patient long years later…wow!!
The young male has been spreading his tail trying to impress the ladies (called “peahens”) since the short season of peacock love is fast approaching. When not showing off, the white male is very happy to eat out of farm visitors hands. He loves grapes, kale, romaine lettuce, plain Cheerios, and blueberries.
