Winterpast Farm has hosted pre-schools, Scout goups, Mom groups, Homeschooler groups and public school groups. One time we had 150 second graders here! Farmer Mary hired a few farmer and a forestor friend to help that time! There is plenty of parking and school buses can get in and out easily.
2017 The animals of Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo drew record crowds tonight (Dec 23) at the second night of Live Nativity at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh. 😢A long unwanted legal land battle with Farmer Mary’s older sister is coming to a dramatic close. Court has ridiculously divided the land lengthwise “awarding” Farmer Mary the side with her house. 🤔That side has NO driveway, NO parking lot, NO barn, NO flat land, NO sunny pasture, NO way to have any barnyard animals, oh and NO well.
👩🎨Farmer Mary’s oldest sister from Chicago showed up unannounced lately and spray painted lines for what looks like a new front gate at the entrance she plans to install to lock Farmer Mary out. She is also threatening to turn off the water and electricity.
🐐Goats QUEEN ELIZABETH and her darling son PRINCE WILLIAM and CARAMEL CREAM and her darling son DANIEL and PRINCESS and her darling son OREO all moved to another farm today along with our beloved CLAIRE donkey. The other goats have scheduled birthday and church events over the next few days then they will be joining them along with the emu. Catching emu is on the list; want to volunteer to help?!. While we are blessed to have them all go to the same very good new home, it is equally heart breaking 💔 knowing the animals idyllic life at Winterpast Farm is ending.

Driveway estimates on building a new entrance the worst most dangerous curve of Ghoston Road $10,000 well estimates $50,000. Farmer Mary has no funds for either project.

🐐With new baby goats in the barnyard it’s very hard to turn away possible farm visitors. Pictured is QUEEN ELIZABETH with her darling two day old son PRINCE WILLIAM.
So, if you have visited before and know how to park at a pig 🐷, where to pay at the gate ($10/person cash only exact change only), how to open the front gate and CLOSE it behind you and how to open the gate to the pasture NOT letting ANY dogs into the pasture and CLOSE the gate behind you then you are welcome to text Farmer Mary (NO voicemails only texts) at 919-244-1800 and arrange a time for a D.I.Y. farm visit this week. Any daylight time fine
👍🏽More rules: watch your children. Close gates you open. Do not expect Farmer Mary to set out feed buckets or knives to cut animal food. You can take small items of food into the barnyard to feed the Mother goats, donkey, pig, emu (Hold your hand flat for the very nice emu and don’t offer food items wider than their throat), DO NOT OFFER FOOD TO BABY GOATS who could choke to death and die. Read that last line again.
Feel free to wander the back woods. If you take a baby goat out there bring it back! Don’t let small children pick up and drop baby goats. Have small children sit on one of the goat platforms (you can see both in picture) on logs or on chairs and a grownup can help them to hold a fragile baby goat.
🦮Feel free to bring dog treats. Just say hi to any dogs you see as you open the gate and keep going. And CLOSE THE GATE. Don’t let dogs out the front gate.
Hand washing is through the open doorway of the barn. Sink is immediately visible of you look right.
Send some farm pics and videos to Farmer Mary and she will post. This could be the start of more DIY here especially early mornings and evenings that people have asked for.
