Many local foodies have been enjoying buying emu eggs from Winterpast Farm! Farmer Mary still has some probably not fresh enough to eat emu eggs for sale at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. ($10 which is less than the usual $25 for a fresh emu egg) Emu only lay during a season and it is now past that season.
🥚People buy the eggs for their beautiful shell and Farmer Mary can instruct you how to empty the contents leaving just one tiny hole in the shell so it’s easy to display. Some people enjoy using a Dremel tool to etch designs in the outer white layer just under the green. A coat of polyurethane clear spray will help protect the outer color from fading. 🥚Chicken eggs are just to show the emu egg size. Sales help Farmer Mary continue to care for and to feed all the former pets living at Winterpast Farm.

🐐🐑Come meet and snuggle the baby goats and baby lambs. We have six baby goats and two baby lambs so far. Maybe EMMA the sheep will have her babies by then. They don’t stay little long!
