The Farmer’s Daughter and Farmer Mary have always greatly enjoyed providing service to their community along with the animals at Winterpast Farm in Wake Forest NC.
This morning they took their 7 week old Golden Retriever puppies
to visit the children living at Hilltop Home in Raleigh
This residential intermediate care facility is home for medically fragile kids with significant motor and cognitive disabilities. Last month they took baby goats
to visit and plans are to take some of the
from Winterpast for a visit later this month.
If YOU have any sweet animals and would like to volunteer to take them for a brief visit with these children who really need some outside enrichment please text Farmer Mary at 9192441800 who will put you in touch with the Director. A visit like that sure puts things in perspective.
Farmer Mary already suggested visiting to a kind regular young farm volunteer who adopted two bunnies from Winterpast Farm who she has harness trained. She and her Mother enjoyed visiting the children last month.
Seeing the really serious lifelong disabilites these children live with and meeting the very kind caring staff was a great way for Farmer Mary to spend the morning away from her own current troubles at Winterpast Farm.
And a great chance to remind the Farmer’s Daughter, who was living in a special needs orphanage in Russia
before Farmer Mary adopted her at age 7, that there are children with MUCH more serious disabilities than her own. #blessedlife #winterpastfarm #hilltophouse #volunteer #goldenpuppies #goldenretriever #goldenlife #farmermary #farmersdaughter #communityservice #goldenretrieverpuppies #puppies #ncgoldens #goldenlife #goldenretrievers #spreadingjoy
