A visiting family left a small hidden package at the farm lately. If you aren’t familiar with LETTERBOX, look it up. It is sort of like geo caching, but low tech with real paper and rubber stamps.
Here is a picture of what they hid. Check out the link above…could be a great new outdoor activity for you and your family.
Summer is finally here it seems. If your family thinks it is too hot to visit a farm, try early in the morning. bring your breakfast picnic and watch Farmer Mary get the animals ready for the day…food, endless water…watch the new baby ducks swim in Big Mama (the pregnant pig) ‘s water hole, ask Farmer Mary how the peacock eggs in her incubator are doing…
There is plenty of shade at Winterpast Farm, lots of picnic tables…where else can you share breakfast with pigs, a baby goat, a llama and other friendly animals?
Text Farmer Mary at 244-1800 if you decide you want to come. Picnic suppers is another popular event this time of year. Watch Justin Beiber the young peacock fly up to roost in a tree, watch the animals all going to sleep at the farm.
Feel free to have kids wear bathing suits and they can join the emu when Farmer Mary turns on the sprinkler for them!
Get your family outside!
Farmer Mary recently aquired two white female Indian Runner ducks, their numerous week old children and the black male father. The children (14 ducklings) love to sneak out of the cage and roam the yard while the mothers call to them.
Right now the ducklings are all light gray but that may change over time. They love to sneak into Big Mama’s mud puddle by the well whenever she isn’t napping there.
Visit Winterpast Farm soon and hold a duckling or help Farmer Mary round them up. It is like herding cats…
