Learn MoreEnjoy this gorgeous weather and spend some time outdoors today meeting, feeding, and holding farm animals.
Winterpast Farm is conveniently located near Falls Lake just north of Raleigh. ten fenced acres where you and your children can roam the woods, hold a baby bunny or chick, walk with a llama, meet a pregnant mini donkey (she likes apple slices from our hand), swing on swings….
Contact Farmer Mary by email at marymomfarmer@hotmail.com or text her at 919-244-1800 to tell her when you would like to come.
Visits are only $5 which is a lot cheaper than the zoo! Adopted children always visit for no charge.
Thank you for supporting a local family farm.
Learn MoreFarmer Mary bought these Coturnix Japanese quail this morning. They are just a few days old…they will start laying at six weeks old! The crayon in the photo was put in briefly just to try to show how tiny they are. Come hold one or two or ten!!
Here is a sample of the pretty speckled eggs they will produce.
A big THANKS to several “friends of the farm” who alerted Farmer Mary this morning that the piglets had sneaked out of the front yard and pasture and were parading along Ghoston road (which is so busy we call it Ghoston Racetrack!)…
One piglet had been sneaking out the last few days to get extra feed in the doorway of the barn where Farmer Mary was storing it, but this was more than one! Luckily, by the time she got outside, the piglets were safely back inside all the gates and fencing with their Mother, Petunia.
Fencing has been strengthened this morning, but pigs are really smart and very strong so if you are driving by and see them near the road again Farmer Mary’s cel phone number is 919-244-1800. Petunia has been literally lifting a gate off it’s hinges to get from the pasture to the front yard lately!
Farmer Mary is very thankful for such good friends!!!
