A new animal has arrived at Winterpast Farm. A Painted Turtle called CRAWLEY. He has yellow spots on his neck and bright red splashes on his legs.
CRAWLEY has to have heat so he will live mostly indoors. Perhaps in a few years he will be big enough to live in Farmer Mary’s pond. For now, he will be inside where this Winter Farmer Mary plans story hours and other fun times for children and families. Watch for a schedule of fun interactive farm visits indoors and out this Winter.
Several children were visiting Winterpast Farm today when CRAWLEY arrived and they enjoyed an up-close visit with our new animal.
Learn MoreFarmer Mary and daughter, Elizabeth, took bunnies from Winterpast Farm to a home birthday party on Saturday.
The bunny birthday cake was darling (and delicious!)
two girls decided to try the kale that the baby bunnies loved so much.
Farmer Mary would be happy to hop on over to YOUR home with some bunnies to help celebrate a birthday soon. Email her at marymomfarmer@hotmail.com
Fun birthday today at Winterpast Farm…pig cupcakes!
Even Petunia the pig had her share.
The kids rolled up and down the hills in Farmer Mary’s fun black tubes
And those pink pig cupcakes were delicious!!
PETUNIA the potbellied pig is happy to announce the adoption of most of her piglets into loving farm families…she and her remaining daughter PEGGY (short for PEG-LEG since she was born missing her back left foot) are relaxing and enjoying visits from new friends who bring them food. they like apples, carrots, bread, green beans, most fruit and veggies.
The last four piglets for sale are now hard at work plowing under Farmer Mary’s summer garden. They have been enjoying eating leftover tomatoes and cucumbers and some birdhouse gourds. hey will soon have eaten the greenery and will start plowing up the roots plus theynwill be fertilizing the garden for next year.
Maybe Farmer Mary will start a new RENT-A-PIG program for other gardeners!
A few days later…
Learn MoreWe found this interesting toad a few weeks ago (and let it go after feeling it on the top and on the bottom, then a quick photo session)
We hope you will visit soon and help us find some interesting new animals here! This rain brings out a variety of lizards and turtles in the forest sometimes.
