Farmer Mary and son, Alex, took friendly animals from Winterpast Farm to celebrate a birthday today.
Farmer Mary often sets up a reading corner for younger children.
The bunnies, dwarf chicken, and Henry the guniea pig all enjoyed a day away from the farm.
The children all had a great time loving the two week old bunnies.
The larger bunnies enjoyed eating carrots, kale and apple slices.
Lots of nice Dads held bunnies.
The birthday boy had a great time! Talk with Farmer Mary soon about bringing animals to YOUR next Birthday or other event.
The peacocks are happily underneath a new roof tarp that Farmer Mary got up just yesterday.
The baby piglets followed their mom, PETUNIA, out of the garage where they sleep. The piglets looked around and headed straight back to the nest inside.
CHESTER and DORIS the geese don’t seem to find the snow a problem and followed Farmer Mary around this morning as she checked on food and water.
The emu are in the front yard today and are hanging out with the turkeys.
Hard to believe this is THOMAS without his feathers in his usual fluffed out mode.
Here he is from just yesterday.
It is incredible to watch his wattles turn from red to pink to white and to watch him change sizes by sticking his feathers out. The turkey hens aren’t old enough to really appreciate him yet, but in a few months they will be thinking differently!
Hopefully the snow will be long gone…make plans to spend Presidents Day at Winterpast Farm. Bring a picnic lunch, snuggle a bunny, walk the forest path and count the big green emu eggs.
