Farmer Mary and son, Thomas, took some of the animals from Winterpast Farm to an away Birthday Party this afternoon. Turning SEVEN was extra fun when good friends all got together to hold bunnies and feed a baby lamb! The weather was COLD, but space heaters helped warm up an enclosed porch and the party went well.
BA BA, the new black sheep, who was attending his very first Birthday party, was very popular and ate carrots, celery and cabbage happily from children’s hands.
TURKEY LURKEY, a few chicks, bunnies and guinea pigs had alot of loving and plenty to eat!
Farmer Mary would be happy to talk with you about Birthday Parties or other events.
Meet a nice live turkey this Thanksgiving holiday!
THOMAS the dad turkey is back with his wife at Winterpast Farm after spending some time at another farm.
Their child, TURKEY LURKEY, who has been happily going with Farmer Mary to birthday parties and preschools is growing fast. We won’t know if it is a boy or girl for several more months. It follows Farmer Mary and farm visitors around and will eat cereal or bread or crackers nicely from your hand.
When you visit just don’t let on what you ate for Thanksgiving dinner!
Visitors to Winterpast Farm often collect feathers and for the past few weeks Farmer Mary has been suggesting they tuck them into pinecones to make their own Thanksgiving “turkey”.
One visiting family took feathers and pinecones home to craft some birds and here is the beautiful result!
Farmer Mary had a wonderful morning visiting MARACAS Montessori Bilingual Preschool located at the corner of Ray Road and Strickland Road.
It was a chilly morning so Farmer Mary set up pens with animals inside a classroom and outside on the playground.
Students from infant to kindergarten age enjoyed meeting, petting and feeding some of the animals from Winterpast Farm. They had a chance to dig their fingers into chicken food and bunny food and they taught Farmer Mary how to say bunny, guinea pig, turkey and some different colors in Spanish.
The white bunny with red eyes named RUBY was voted the favorite animal inside. Baby goat JESSE was a carrot eating machine and ate any carrots, kale, crackers and green leaves offered to him. Farmer Mary had the children wondering what JESSE would tell his twin brother JAMES who was left back at the farm today! Probably he bragged about all the carrots he ate and all the loving attention he received from all the students at MARACAS Montessori.
Farmer Mary would be happy to arrange to visit your preschool or other site.
