The sun came out and the weather warmed up perfectly for celebrating turning three today. Farmer Mary and her daughter, Elizabeth, took a bunch of Winterpast Farm bunnies and a few baby guinea pigs (for little laps) to a backyard Bunny Birthday Party this morning.
Children and grownups enjoyed meeting and feeding and holding the bunnies today.

BA BA the new baby sheep had a wonderful day today with nonstop visitors to Winterpast Farm. he followed visitors around, ate a few apple slices and slices of cabbage out of hands, let himself be petted…Farmer Mary is very pleased with her new boy!
A good “Friend of the Farm” collected pumpkins from their neighbors and brought them to Winterpast today. He and his children had great fun throwing the pumpkins to the pigs and seeing the pigs start to eat them. The goats and chickens and emu and sheep all enjoy the pumpkins as well.
Farmer Mary’s Great Dane, BIG WANDA, decided to hang out with visitors today and even took the forest walk twice. Wanda is old and had pretty much given up being a farm dog (preferring laying in Farmer Mary’s bed and watching visitors out the window) but today she was outdoors enjoying the company and petting. It was great to see her interacting with the visitors. She is sleeping particularly soundly right now! Hope she isn’t too sore when she wakes up!
The farm was really busy today, probably due to the half day of school for those with traditional schedules. There were lots of new and regular visitors all enjoying the sunshine. Several families had a chance to meet Farmer Mary’s son, Alex, who turned 17 today, as well as son Thomas, daughter Elizabeth and oldest son, Ben who dropped by a while.
HENRY the bunny went out on rental and Farmer Mary’s son, Ben, happened to be at the farm and took lots of photos of the whole process that we will post soon. It was fun having the children try different bunnies before they decided on HENRY who is a long haired Jersey Wooly breed bunny.
Farmer Mary would be happy to talk with you about pet rentals. See the tab specifically about that on the front page of the farm website.
FARM OPEN ALL DAY THIS SATURDAY AND THIS SUNDAY AFTER 12 NOON.
A new baby Shetland sheep named BA BA was donated to Winterpast Farm today. He is little and sweet and will spend his first weeks in the front yard getting used to his new life. BA BA turned the wrong color (he is a wool producing sheep) and the farm didn’t want to keep him and offered him to Farmer Mary
