Another amazing peacock photo from Winterpast Farm. You can bring grapes, kale, cereal, crackers and thin apple slices and the peacocks will eat from your hands. This is a male-you can tell from the blue neck and the copper colored feathers at the very bottom of the wings.
Please read “your visit” at www.winterpast.org which explains how to schedule your visit. Please text Farmer Mary. Don’t just drop by even during posted open hours. Farm may close during rain. Always check back after scheduling a visit to be sure farm is open on rainy days)

Due to rain closing the farm today, Winterpast Farm will be OPEN tomorrow, December 24, from 10-2:30. Come see and hold our new baby chicks!!
Afterwards Farmer Mary will be loading sheep and goats to help start a service at St.Phillip Lutheran Church from 3:30-4:30 on her way to take the animals to the Live Nativity at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh. There will be a fun animal meeting and petting session at Hayes Barton starting after their children’s service (whenever Farmer Mary gets there around 5:15) until the Live Nativity begins at 7pm. Bring along a carrot or apple slice for the animals.
Please SHARE with friends who might like to start an annual tradition of attending a Live Nativity on Christmas Eve

Farmer Mary assumes the Live Nativity at Hayes Barton Baptist Church (see earlier posts for address) will go on tonight despite possible rain. Farmer Mary will be loading up some sheep and goats around 6 to take them to Raleigh. The donkeys spend the nights in a little barn on site. Tomorrow night, with no rain in the forecast, there is an early (5:30-7) meet the animal time before the Live Nativity starts at 7. No rain expected tomorrow. What a nice way to spend Christmas Eve!
