We had a nice busy day today at Winterpast Farm petting zoo in Wake Forest NC. BARNEY the almost 17 year old Dachshund was pooped after following Farmer Mary around and he spent alot of the afternoon resting in his Barneymobile that Farmer Mary up-cycled from an old double jogger stroller.
Farm visitors enjoyed meeting the five pregnant goats, holding bunnies and guinea pigs, feeding our pretty peacocks, learning about emu and just spending time together with family and friends outdoors on this gorgeous winter day. We met alot of out of town visitors who will definitely be back to visit Winterpast Farm to see their favorite animals next time they are in town.
Farmer Mary hopes this lovely weather holds for the entire winter! Guess we will have to wait and see.

The golden girls rule the mulch pile late this afternoon at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Anyone who needs to work off holiday indulgences is welcome to pick up a rake and spread some mulch! Farm is open tomorrow from 10-5. Farmer Mary is hoping the the forecast of morning rain will be over quickly.

Flashback to last spring in early May when baby goat CARSON was just five weeks old at Winterpast Farm petting zoo in Wake Forest NC. CARSON stayed very small and grew a long beard and had a handsome white stripe down his back. CARSON went on to be selected to be the Daddy to all the currently pregnant goats at Winterpast Farm. Babies are due probably in February into March. Come meet the 5 pregnant lady goats and you can follow their baby bumps here on Instagram. Then, come snuggle the “kids” when they are born. Farmer Mary always needs baby goat snugglers in the winter months.

Farmer Mary’s daughter gave her a fake Dachshund dog for Christmas. She said it was so Farmer Mary wouldn’t be sad one day when BARNEY, who is going on 17, isn’t at Winterpast Farm any longer. The new dog we are calling LITTLE BARNEY and he is amazingly lifelike, especially as he is wearing one of BARNEY’s winter coats. Other dogs have been extremely confused by him.
