The emu at Winterpast Farm petting zoo have begun laying eggs. Usually the female lays about 20. The male is supposed to set on the eggs for 55 days but he never has here at Winterpast Farm. A very limited number of fresh emu eggs are available for $25-great gift for a foodie friend!
Farmer Mary discovered a nest with four eggs this morning. She will be taking farm visitors to see the nest at very certain, quite limited, times on open days. She can’t be ten acres back (the eggs are near the back fence line) while visitors are waiting at the front gate to enter. She will post specifics about that very soon.

Photos can be taken in the front area of Winterpast Farm during regular paid farm visits although Farmer Mary may be busy with other visitors. Or you can schedule one on one time with Farmer Mary and explore photographing in the back pasture and woods and barn. One on one would be before or after posted open dates and hours. Or occasionally on a day listed as closed. One hour $10/ person.
