Farmer Mary and her daughter are just getting home from the first day of a conference on Wildlife Rehabilitation at the NCSU Vet School. She had neighbors and other friends of the farm checking in all day in case any of the goats or sheep at Winterpast Farm decided to birth. No news. However, ALBERTA the sheep has a huge very visibly wiggly tummy.!

MABEL and CLAIRE are miniature donkeys who moved to Winterpast Farm petting zoo several years ago when a 4-H program closed. They love to greet visitors with their loud bray and are easy to pet and feed. They both love apple slices, carrots, grapes, kale and most veggies and fruits. They both travel with Farmer Mary to some Live Nativities at local churches around Christmas.

JOSEPH (and his coat of many colors) and his wife, RACHEL, are happy to eat kale, grapes, soft apple slices, crackers, corn and more from visitors hnds at Winterpast Farm petting zoo in Wake Forest NC.
JOSEPH is growing out his long tail he will use to impress the lady peacocks in a few months during the brief season of peacock love. He displays his beautiful tail feathers more and more lately especially on warm days and in the late afternoon.
Farmer Mary is hoping her new white female (called a peahen) might have some pure white or mixed color babies. Time will tell.

One day old baby guinea pigs at Winterpast Farm! They will be available to look at but not to touch or to hold for a while. Pet stores often sell pregnant animals and they often end up being donated to Winterpast Farm. If you or your child wants a small furry pet, Farmer Mary suggests you rent a Guinea pig for a week. Read more at Pet Rental at www.winterpast.org. Almost everyone has a really great time (and realize just how much small animals poop!) and are very happy to bring them back to Winterpast Farm instead of buying one.
