BETSY the goat who had an emergency c-section at the NCSU Vet School yesterday is up on her feet and on the mend. She will be on pain meds and antibiotics a while but full recovery is expected. Farmer Mary won’t allow her to breed again since her pelvis is very small. Fans of BETSY are welcome to contribute to her surgery cost which was about 60 farm visits :). Or you can tell friends about Winterpast Farm and encourage them to visit.

Farm fun today at Winterpast Farm celebrating turning 7 with friends and family enjoying spending time together outdoors. Invited guests and their parents enjoyed snuggling 13 day old goat twins then walking them on a leash, petting guinea pigs, feeding peacocks and emu and mini donkeys, a pig pinata, petting baby lambs and everyone hoping BETSY the very pregnant goat would birth during the party!

Sweet twin goats THOMAS and VIOLET had alot of loving from Farmer Mary and from farm visitors of all ages today at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Both goats are learning to walk on a leash and are very snuggly. Come snuggle a baby goat soon!

Early this morning Farmer Marys dogs woke her wanting to go outside. The donkeys were braying and roosters crowing and guineas sounding off around 6:00.
Usually that means there is a raccoon or opossum at Winterpast Farm. After a quick sniffing patrol of the front yard CHARLIE went back inside to bed. Farmer Mary took these few pics. No big news for those of you who follow Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Closed today to visitors while Farmer Mary heads to the feed store and a big load of round hay bales is delivered.
