Most visitors to Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC get to meet sweet old BARNEY. He moved to the farm a few years ago after his human died and he is now Farmer Mary’s little man. BARNEY is going on 17 and can’t see well but he follows Farmer Mary all around Winterpast Farm all day long and helps to greet our visitors.

Farmer Mary hosted a group field trip from Wakefield Middle School this morning at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Thankful that the rain ended just in time!
BARNEY the ancient dachshund was very happy to sit in Farmer Mary’s lap whenever she sat down to help a student learn about holding and brushing and feeding the bunnies, guinea pigs and chicks.

Yeaterday afternoon Farmer Mary’s son, Thomas,filmed the beginning of what will soon be a series of You Tube “Bedtime Stories With Farmer Mary”. Farmer Mary will be reading new and classic animal themed books aloud and the You Tube videos will include video and photos of the related animals here at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
MAX the little dog thought the cameras were all for him!. Maybe Farmer Mary can find a book to read aloud about small dogs.
