Farmer Mary was checking on animals and putting out hay in the old tobacco barn this afternoon at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. She found the pigs sound asleep with chickens sleeping on top of them. Smart way to keep chicken toes warm!

There is deep snow and no real signs of melting yet in the parking lot and entrance to Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
The road in front of the farm is a sheet of ice and Farmer Mary has seen very few cars pass by today.
Farmer Mary is hoping to have some warm days so the sunshine can melt all this snow before a big load of round bales of hay is delivered in a few days.

This morning it looked like MABEL the mini donkey was giving all the goats some instruction at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Farmer Mary really wishes she spoke donkey!
The animals have hay and warm water and feed delivered to them throughout these cold days. Huge round bales of hay are scheduled to be delivered to Winterpast Farm sometime this coming weekend. Farmer Mary is hoping the hay will get the larger animals through until some grass starts growing in the back pasture.

On really cold days/nights most of the bunnies and all of the guinea pigs are brought into the heated garage at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Thanks to @larryscoffee in Raleigh for the burlap coffee bean bags Farmer Mary uses to insulate the floor to ceiling shelves! More coffee bean bags are used outdoors as a layer of insulation for bunny hutches. Thanks Larry!

Farmer Mary was way out in her back pasture just now checking for footprints at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Snow days are perfect for discovering exactly what uninvited animals like foxes and raccoons are hanging out at the petting zoo. Farmer Mary didn’t see any footprints but the snow is coming down so fast they probably were covered! She will check again tomorrow morning before any melting.
