Chick Days at Tractor Supply in Youngsville! Some local families (and local photographers) enjoy picking out some baby chicks (or darling ducklings) to take home and raise for a few weeks and enjoy taking photos and watching them develop. Then, they donate them to Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo!
Fun for families! Great idea for a classroom! Why not gift a favorite teacher with some temporary classroom chicks?! A cardboard box, some feed and water and a lamp for warmth is all you need! (Just don’t get the “Cornish” super cute light yellow chicks since they are a meat breed and will grow very heavy very quickly and will never be a laying hen.)
