VIOLET VALENTINE was born Feb 15 along with her sister who is still waiting for the perfect name at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Farmer Mary appreciates the kind farm visitor who sent this great photo after his farm visit. VIOLET and her twin sister are just a few weeks old and won’t be eating any food treats out of farm visitors hands for quite a while. They are just drinking milk from their mom BUTTERCUP and they are starting to nibble a bit of hay and feed. BUTTERCUP says bring her some treats!!

Farmer Mary’s youngest son dropped by Winterpast Farm today to meet the baby lambs born early this morning to EMMA the sheep. That sheep just happens to be named for his girlfriend. That’s the real sign of approval by Farmer Mary 😉

Farmer Mary was happy to have the Farmers Daughter along to help load her Mini Cooper with animal feed this evening @tractorsupply in Youngsville. They plan to stop and try the new Johnny’s Pizza on the way home.
Many farm visitors assume that the carrots and apples they bring along on farm visits are all the food the animals. Not so! Farmer Mary spends an average of $600 a month on feed and about $100 more on hay. Did you know that even pigs eat hay? Feel free to donate feed through the Amazon Wish List for Winterpast Farm or look at the Donations page at www.winterpast.org and buy a few bags of feed Farmer Mary uses regularly. Farm visitors today enjoyed meeting the less than one day old baby lamb twins and feeding peacocks, emu, sheep and more. Looks like rain may close the farm for visits tomorrow but check back. You never know about weather in NC!
