Big THANKS to the volunteer firefighters @northernwakefire who donated their leftover pumpkins to help feed the animals at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Farmer Mary’s oldest son is a Volunteer Firefighter with Northern Wake.
The animals all love to eat pumpkins so bring your intact pumpkins and ask your neighbors for theirs! You can bring them along on your next scheduled farm visit or just drop them off anytime out by the old tobacco barn. Dry hay bales also welcome to be used for bedding .
Farmer Mary has a friend who can use bales of hay that have gotten wet for gardening so feel free to drop those here.

These girls enjoyed holding animals yesterday at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. HELEN KELLER (yes, she is blind) and LINUS enjoyed being held,fed and brushed.
🐖Come for a farm visit soon and see if YOU can pass the guinea pig test! All the former pet bunnies and guinea pigs would love some attention!
🦆Most are available through Farmer Mary’s unique Pet Rental Program. “Rent for a week and get over it” says Farmer Mary. About 98 percent DO get over the idea of owning a small caged pet long term. YOU can read more at www.winterpast.org.
🐇Have a nice animal experience then return the animal to Farmer Mary who will deal with protecting them during extreme cold and hot weather, through their old age and other issues.
🐏Farmer Mary wasn’t allowed to have animals as a child. Her Mother told her to wait til she got older and then could have all the dogs and whatever other animals she wanted. Well, she waited and now Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo is her front yard!

🎃Bring your pumpkins. Bring your neighbors fancy pumpkins. The animals love to eat them and Farmer Mary never has too many (she shares with other farms).
🇺🇸Farmer Mary can alway use donations of dry hay bales, fleece blankets, towels or any size as well as blankets including spare sleeping bags and comforters which are used over individual cages and hutches on cold nights. Bags of DRY leaves are also very welcome as well as fresh grass clippings.
