Farmer Mary’s was feeding the birds some oatmeal this morning that a very kind “Friend of the Farm” donated to help her feed the animal at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. The farm will be open tomorrow for visits from 10-5.

Chilly nights are coming so Farmer Mary just walked to the far back corner of her ten acre farm and took the emu eggs from their nest and relocated them to her heated garage. Last year she forgot and they all cracked! You only let that happen once!
These are fresh eggs and are for sale now at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. $25 for a truly unique gift for a foodie friend perhaps? Paid farm visit not required for purchase and Farmer Mary will throw in a photo of you with the emu and emu feather with any purchase. Sales go directly to the care and feeding of the emu and other animals at Winterpast Farm.
This nest hasn’t had a new egg added in a few days and Farmer Mary is sure it was abandoned. The emu often start several nests before settling on the perfect spot.

On the back it says “Good for one free admission to Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. Rocks with two animals can be returned to the farm for two free admissions so they are $20. 🐥Farmer Mary is outside now watching closely for hawks who are a bit too interested in the 2 week old baby chicks who are wandering around the farm today with their mom.
