This afternoon around 4, friends and family gathered to celebrate a 40th birthday. Children had a chance to feed and hold some animals until dark, then everyone moved to the back pasture where they enjoyed a bonfire, roasting hotdogs, making s’mores, hot chocolate, glow bracelets…
Two kinds of chili and pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread, chips…Farmer Mary can run an electric cord to the back pasture to provide light and music and to plug in crockpots.

The weather was chilly but the rain held off and a light sprinkle of snow fell just as we were packing everything up tonight.
