Farmer Mary loaded up her car this morning in the pouring rain to take some of her friendly animals to visit the 1st graders at Ravenscroft School. By the time she arrived the sun was out and the children all enjoyed walking JACK the lamb and SEBASTIAN the baby goat on a leash as well as holding three day old baby chicks, ten day old baby bunnies and more.
Some of the bunnies were so big and fluffy that children scooted together to make one big shared lap. All the children waited patiently for their turns with each animal.
Teachers were given Winterpast Farm business cards for the children to take home since many expressed desires to meet and hold more animals and a few didn’t have a chance to hold the teeny bunnies or a baby chick. Farmer Mary has a ten acre farm/petting zoo which you can visit and there, on a farm visit, your child can hold as many animals as their lap will contain. Farmer Mary couldn’t fit her peacocks or mini donkeys or other large animals in her car this morning!
A classroom mom had arranged the visit (Farmer Mary would be happy to talk about your gifting your child’s classroom with a visit or a temporary classroom pet-ask her about her “rent-a-rabbit” program!)
Farmer Mary also collected some great donated items from an aquarium to rabbit cage to pet supplies. THANKS Ravenscroft 1st graders!!!
