Take a Child Outside Week, an initiative that started right here in the Triangle at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and now is celebrated around the country and beyond, runs Sept. 24 to Sept. 30.
The week, inspired by Richard Louv’s 2005 book “Last Child in the Woods,” encourages adults to take kids outside so they can explore and develop an appreciation for the natural world. Liz Baird of the natural sciences museum launched the week about seven years ago.
Farmer Mary is having a SPECIAL Half price for all kids under 18 several days that week.
OPEN: Wed Sept 25 from 12-4 and Thurs Sept 26 from 12- 5:30
Farmer Mary is taking animals to a preschool those mornings and her teens need transport later in the day.
