🐥Farmer Mary noticed she recently hit 10,000 likes for the Winterpast Farm Facebook page! What an amazing journey it has been. The farm was a divorce present to herself and then became a sanctuary for her and her two young sons. A year later they were living with two more children she adopted from Russia.
🐏When someone called to ask about her “petting zoo” the entire idea of opening to the public was born. To support the idea of adoption Farmer Mary made a free admission for adopted (and foster) children policy. For some local families with lots of adopted children there is finally a place they can afford to take their entire family!!
🐇Farmer Mary’s children grew up drinking goats milk and swimming in the pool that has since been converted into a pond to house former pet turtles and fish. Farmer Mary’s children are now 22,24,24, and 26 and all live locally. Elizabeth graduated last Spring from App State’s two year Scholars With Diverse Abilities Program and she is back at the farm partnering with Farmer Mary to continue to provide a unique, educational animal experiences for people as well as a home for unwanted pets.
🐐Many individuals and families visit the farm monthly, some even weekly! Many grandparents have discovered Winterpast Farm is a great place to bring their grandchildren. Many local nannies bring their children of all ages. Farmer Mary enjoys providing animals for many local Live Nativities at Christmas time and bunnies for local photographers at Easter.
❤️We truly appreciate your support and hope to see you at the farm soon.
