If the electricity goes out and the well won’t work the animals will still have plenty of water to drink at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC! Thanks to a special Friend of the Farm who dropped by to donate and fill up the gray water containers and then stayed along with her sons for several hours to help Farmer Mary get prepared for the big storm.
Farmer Mary has bunnies and guinea pigs and small animals safely (we hope!) put away in her garage. Her home dates from the 1730’s so it is pretty secure!

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone hosting “Hurricane Buddies”! These are small animals including bunnies and guinea pigs that kind local families and individuals picked up yesterday ahead of Florence from Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
The animals will all enjoy a fun and safe stay away from the farm where Farmer Mary has other bunnies and guinea pigs and small animals safely (we hope!) put away in her garage. Her home dates from the 1730’s so is pretty secure!

New for Fall at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC is this cool hand cranking apple device that skins, core and slices an apple in seconds! It comes with a weak suction cup, but Farmer Mary will get it bolted down securely soon and have it available for farm visitors to use. The animals will all love the fresh slices and they fit nicely in most animal cages..

A second hedgehog just arrived yesterday and Farmer Mary will be using these treats while she gets to know out new boy SONIC. Nothing like great food to ease a transition!
Farmer Mary has ordered him a running wheel and is working on a proper pen for him since he arrived just wrapped up in a fleece blankie last night. In a while SONIC will be available through Farmer Mary’s unique Pet Rental Program. You can read more about that at www.winterpast.org.
