Winterpast Farm has hosted pre-schools, Scout goups, Mom groups, Homeschooler groups and public school groups. One time we had 150 second graders here! Farmer Mary hired a few farmer and a forestor friend to help that time! There is plenty of parking and school buses can get in and out easily.

Winterpast Farm started back in 2003 when Farmer Mary moved from downtown (Cameron Park) Raleigh after a divorce. Then she started to collect animals. Her Mother had always told her “You can have as many dogs and animals as you want after you grow up”. About a year later someone called asking about the “Petting Zoo”. Farmer Mary googled Petting Zoos and read about a “Farmer John” and decided she would be Farmer Mary. And twenty years have gone by as she has lived out her childhood dream and enjoyed the opportunity to share her experiences with all ages farm visitors. Now the Farmer’s Daughter who Farmer Mary adopted twenty years ago from Russia at age 7 helps run the farm.

🐣🐥Farmer Mary welcomed a sweet new baby to Winterpast Farm today with the help of a pair of warm hands. 🥚A chick was having trouble getting out of the egg today and the mom hen was seen “helping” a bit harshly so Farmer took the chick to hatch. 🐣A sweet young farm visitor watched over it for hours. You will see ROSIE the Great Dane who loves to greet all new animals at Winterpast Farm🥰🐥The chick finally shed the shell and soon fluffed up under a heat lamp. It has now joined other two day old chicks in a warm brooder.🥰🐥
