Chicks hatched earlier than expected this morning at Winterpast Farm petting zoo. Farmer Mary thought she had timed the hatch to be later this week but then she heard the special shrill newborn “peep” in her dining room. Tomorrow morning she is delivering the eggs to a preschool where they have an incubator all warmed up with the hatch planned for a few days from now. Surprise! Three more eggs in the middle of the incubator have started to hatch. Farmer Mary is hoping at least some of the eggs will wait more patiently! Silly chicks!!
