DORIS the goose at Winterpast Farm petting zoo in Wake Forest NC enjoying some hot water that Farmer Mary has been busy bringing out to all the animals. Frozen waterbowls this morning, but only a light dusting of snow and a bit of sleet. Very thankful to be living this far south! Thanks to everyone who donates their empty gallon jugs (especially water, juice or tea which aren’t as stinky as milk jugs!)
Did you know an egg can freeze? Farmer Mary tries to gather her chickens eggs all day long so none are left outdoors overnight during the winter. Occasionally she misses one! Different chickens lay their eggs at different times all day long, not just in the morning.
