This afternoon farm visitors enjoyed hand feeding the all white male peacock at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC. This peacock hatched from an egg that Farmer Mary purchased and set under a broody hen four years ago. It’s the most fun she has had yet at Winterpast Farm!
It takes three long years for a male to grow his first long tail feathers. Next year he will have an even longer more beautiful tail. Come hand feed him and the other peacocks soon at Winterpast Farm. They love kale, romaine lettuce, whole wheat ritz or saltine crackers and grapes.
