A local family is having alot of fun with baby chicks they purchased today at Tractor Supply in Youngsville. They wanted to rent chicks for a week or two from Winterpast Farm like a friend of theirs recently did, but the chicks Farmer Mary has right now are a bit old for rental. The younger they are the less they fly! And the younger they are the more you can watch them develop each day.
So, Farmer Mary suggested they buy a few chicks during the current “Chick Days” at Tractor Supply. They picked out these four cuties and are having a great time! Even Dad approves of temporary pets! Farmer Mary lent them a cage, light, feeder, waterer and bedding and food. Later, probably once school starts, they will donate the chicks to be part of the flock at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo.
