Always look up when you are at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC!! Recent farm visitors are seeing Farmer Mary’s beautiful white peacock up on the roof of her house and strolling the grounds of Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
This young male peacock has been displaying his newly grown tail mostly on sunny days. The long tail feathers are used to show off for females in the spring during the brief season of peacock love. Can’t blame a guy this gorgeous from giving all the the girls a taste of coming attractions!
Farmer Mary purchased the egg from another peacock breeder years ago and placed it under a broody hen at Winterpast Farm. This white peacock has been nearly a three year project of hers. A true lesson in patience! Come see him soon! He eats cheerios, whole wheat saltines and Ritz crackers, grapes and corn from farm visitors hands.
